Millwork for Georgian Style Home Renovations

Our in-stock combination of Georgian style moldings are crafted to replicate the characteristics of the period. Available in select lengths and wood options, these moldings are ready to ship soon after ordering. View each profile below to learn more about its options.

Georgian Baseboard

  • 3202 [3/4 x 2]
  • S4S [1-1/2 x 3-1/2]

The baseboard in Georgian era homes were often ornate - as was most interior woodworking. With more height and depth than modern moldings, Georgian baseboards feature cyma recta and cyma reversa shapes coupled with hollows to form multiple curves.

Georgian Style Crown Moldings

  • 3004 [3/4 x 3-1/4]
  • S4S [3/4 x 3-1/2]
  • 3046 [3/4 x 3-1/2]

Using planed wood to create distinguished depth, Georgian style crown moldings feature intricate construction. These moldings often featured combinations of cyma recta and cyma reversa shapes.

Georgian Door & Window Casing

  • 7095 [1-13/16 x 1-3/4]
  • 1247 [7/8 x 3-13/16]

Door and window trim was especially ornate in Georgian style homes. Casing featured ovolo, ogee, and bead and quirk in their design. Backband was used to create added depth.

The Georgian Architecture & Millwork Style

Popular during the reigns of George I, II, and III of England, Georgian style architecture relied heavily on neoclassical design. Architects like Sir Christopher Wren drew inspiration from ancient Greece and Rome, with adherence to the classic sense of proportion and symmetry.

Unlike the similarly neoclassically-derived Federal style popular in America, the interior of Georgian homes and public works feature ornate millwork that incorporate the ogee, fillet, ovolo, and bead and quirk.

Specified Length Fee: For lengths specified beyond in-stock material, there is a 10% upcharge compared to random length prices for items up to 12 feet. Extended lengths from 13' to 16' receive a 20% upcharge.

Shipping
For items longer than 8 feet, LTL freight shipping is required. While we can ship longer lengths, please note that shipping costs will be considerably higher. Therefore, we recommend selecting lengths of 8 feet or shorter when possible, especially for small quantity orders, as these can be shipped via ground carrier. *Items over 12 feet are classified as extreme overlength, incurring an additional accessorial fee on the total shipping cost.
